The Operations Supervisor is responsible for:
Overseeing the operational, financial, governance and ensure strategic objectives and branch probability is achieved with support from the PE Management Team

Rental

Parts:
With the support of the Regional Parts Manager, ensure that sales and GP targets are met, stock availability is as per set targets, parts obsolescence is controlled and ensure that parts inventories / perpetual stock counts are done as per company policy.
Effective management of Aftermarket Representative to ensure targets are met, visibility in the market and growth of market share in all departments.
Service and Maintenance
Ensure work in progress, service scheduling and load testing is managed in line with company policies.
Profitability of maintenance contracts are managed in line with company policy and warranty claims processing is in line with set regulations and submitted for processing timeously.
Manage Technician Labour Recovery and achieve monthly targets as per set budgets with support from PE Maintenance Manager.
Debtors
Assist PE Debtors team with any Debtors disputes as and when required
Creditors
Support PE Creditors Team by ensuring accurate and timeous receipt and verification of invoices, and assisting with any Creditors disputes as and when required

To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform each essential duty / key performance area satisfactorily. Overall responsibility to schedule, plan and communicate to technician’s service activity to relevant staff member(s) and customers; dispatching of technicians to attend to breakdowns, services, load test, PDI, rebuild, engineering, booking of all jobs on mobile tech
Facilitating customer calls, complaints and queries; ensure it is followed through and communicate process / result to customers
Plan &amp; arrange for machines to come to the workshop, assign technician, follow through until machine is delivered
Compiling of sustainability report – monthly
Invoicing completed jobs within 3 working days (ensuring that jobs are opened and closed as per company standards, accurate and timeous)
Ensuring technicians achieve labour recovery = &gt;80%
Submission of weekly CSI report
Ensuring that the team achieves predetermined targets
Foster and maintain dedication to service excellence in every aspect of work carried out; ensure timeous feedback / communication to customers
Processing of Service, Maintenance Agreements (as and when required), updating of records on Kerridge system. Depending on the specific team the controller is placed in, various specific administrative tasks relating to invoices and managing service schedules might be added to this area of responsibility.
Assisting product support engineer / foreman to keep service schedules within set parameters by proper planning and scheduling of technicians / mechanics to carry out services.
Providing scheduled (monthly, weekly and daily) and ad-hoc reports as might be requested by department manager and / or product support engineer / foreman
Processing of creditors invoices, creating order numbers
Submitting of tax invoices and job cards to customers for chargeable &amp; maintenance work
Preparing quotations, submitting, following up with the customers and submitting to Product support to follow
Preparing quotations, submitting, following up with the customers and  submitting to Product support to follow up on order numbers
Resolve debtors’ queries and follow through until resolved
Resolve creditors queries and follow through until resolved
GPS amendments to be done weekly, business &amp; private trips respectively
Processing of technician’s overtime
Ordering of parts &amp; following up with relevant supplier
Driver training candidates to be added to TETA data base within 5 days from training&lt;br /&gt;

The purpose of this position is to ensure that best management practices are consistently applied across all areas of operational responsibility, including procedures, systems, and day-to-day actions. The role is responsible for promoting and embedding a strong customer‑service orientated business.
This position will implement, monitor, and uphold initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic vision, while ensuring that the maintenance department is managed efficiently and profitably, in accordance with agreed budgets, performance targets, and operational standards.

Key Performance Areas:
(Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities)

Ensure the effective and sound management of the operations in line with approved budgets and the company’s strategic objectives, including:
Work in progress control
Service and repair scheduling
Roadside technician application
Quality of workmanship
Labour recovery performance
Profitability and performance of maintenance contracts
Maintenance department performance and profitability
 Achieve and maintain a minimum monthly labour recovery target of 50%.
Hold overall responsibility for delivering high-quality customer service, ensuring optimal response times and consistently professional service delivery.
Manage and lead technicians and apprentices, including effective planning, allocation, and monitoring of daily tasks and workloads.
Provide regular, accurate, and timeous feedback to the Operations Manager on operational performance, challenges, and corrective actions.
Compile and submit all weekly and monthly operational reports to the Operations Manager within agreed timelines.
Provide continuous updates to customers, including progress reporting on all activities conducted on customer sites.
Ensure that all technicians comply with administrative procedures, including job cards, time sheets, service reports, and related documentation.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, policies, and statutory regulations at all times.
Conduct and oversee monthly fleet inspections
Provide technical support and guidance to technicians to maintain service quality and resolve complex issues efficiently.
Actively drive and promote customer service excellence across the maintenance team.


Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills Education / Training and Experience Requirement(s):
Trade test, 5 years + industry experience
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, quality standards for service, and evaluation CSI.
Relevant Technical skill within the Materials Handling Industry
Relevant knowledge of CFAO HEAVY LIFT products and value-added offerings
Proven and relevant experience within similar role
Relevant Technical qualification within industry
Experience working on the Kerridge system.
Ability to compile spreadsheets.
