To use measuring/marking tools such as combination square, straightedges, and calipers to lay out and align work pieces.
Locates marks reference points for columns or plates on foundation, using master straightedge, squares, transit plus measuring tape plus applying knowledge of geometry
Prepare materials for welding by cleaning metal surface using scrapers and grinders to remove rough spots.
Carry out welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions
Measure and mark work pieces using straightedges, rules, and calipers
Cut and smoothen metal components using plasma cutters, portable grinders, lathe machines
Operate forklifts/cranes and use them in conveying work materials to be welding
Collaborate with project managers and welding supervisors to ensure smooth work operations
Guide and direct the activities of inexperienced/trainee welders
Carry out welding according to set dimensions to meet general test requirements
Organize and clean welding equipment on a regular basis
Monitor inventory level of materials to notify supervisor of stock shortage
Bore holes through metal workpieces using drill press
Weld materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
Bolts or arc-welds structures sections together
Servicing and repair of our range of equipment to specified standards and according to set procedures by delivering quality service / maintenance.
Perform accurate diagnosis / troubleshooting in event of breakdown of equipment; communicate what repairs are needed by advising customer and/or supervisor.
Record equipment maintenance data and operational data / history by updating and timeously communicating information that must go on record.
Provide complete customer satisfaction in a polite and professional manner.
Ensure proper communication between self, workshop staff (supervisor and controller) and customer.
Ensure OHSACT requirements are met in all actions on company and client premises; maintains a safe work environment by verifying vehicle safety device operations, following standards and procedures and in general complying with legal regulation.
