Job description:

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

The Junior Digital Marketing Specialist will assist in the execution and monitoring of digital marketing campaigns across SEO, paid media, CRM, and content channels. This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing career, eager to grow their skills while contributing to real campaign performance across multiple automotive brands and dealerships in South Africa.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Grade 12/equivalent.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • 1 - 2 years Digital Marketing Experience within the automotive industry, with proven multi-channel campaign management across SEO, Paid Media, CRM, Video and Content.
  • Proven success managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns with measurable ROI.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console).
  • Experience with email marketing and CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Strong writing skills with an eye for detail, brand tone, and performance-driven content.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to use Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, and reporting tools.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills with experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in CMS lead management.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Social Media Platforms.
  • Great Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Writing and Creative skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure to be able to meet deadlines.
  • Analytic Skills.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

  • Assist with keyword research and on-page SEO tasks such as metadata updates and internal linking.
  • Help monitor SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console and SEMrush.
  • Support uploading and formatting of optimised content across web platforms.

Paid Media

  • Support the setup and management of paid campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram).
  • Assist with ad copywriting, audience targeting setup, and basic performance reporting.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure creative and messaging align with campaign goals.
  • Briefing of creative agency briefs for new monthly campaign artwork.

CRM & Email Marketing

  • Help build and send email campaigns using the CRM platform (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Maintain email lists and assist with segmentation and lead nurturing.
  • Track and report on basic engagement metrics (opens, clicks, unsubscribes).

Content Marketing

  • Assist in writing and editing blog articles, landing pages, and social media captions.
  • Support the team in managing the content calendar and publishing schedules.
  • Help ensure consistency in tone, branding, and formatting across platforms.
