Job Description :

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/ equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written communication and literacy skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • A valid, unendorsed driver's license with the appropriate vehicle codes. 
  • Proven experience working as a Network Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
  • Experience with network hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).

 

 

Profil Request :

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance, security, and availability, and take proactive measures to address issues and prevent downtime.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connections, to identify and resolve root causes.
  • Configure and maintain network protocols, IP addressing, and routing tables to optimize network performance and reliability.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to protect against cyber threats.
  • Perform network capacity planning and bandwidth management to support the organization's growing needs.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to plan and implement network infrastructure projects and upgrades.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other IT staff as needed.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in network support to ensure the continuous improvement of IT services.
  • Any ad hoc admin/ other responsibilities as and when required.
