The purpose of this position is to assist in the workshop to assemble and repair batteries in a cost-efficient manner by using the correct equipment, to the required industry and safety standards and assist with other duties.

To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform each essential duty / key performance area satisfactorily under support and guidance from Technician. This list of key performance areas is not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time:

Assist in building new batteries with correct layout and polarity
Be able to cut and use packing correctly to stabilise cells in tank
Follow guidance in placing the correct cells in the correct tank according to machine model
Be able to paint, clean and mark steel tanks when necessary
Able to do acid adjustments when required with guidance and support
Assist to build batteries in specified time frame as guided and support by technician
Ensure the workshop clean and tidy- meet ASEC standards
Do deliveries of batteries and chargers to customers if requested
Be able to use of multi-meter to test and other tools to do fault finding
Will be required to do battery reports - read, understand, and respond appropriately
Able to strip and rebuild service batteries
Under guidance be able to access, repair and replace faulty accessories
Remove cells wedged in the tank appropriately and safely
At all-time follow OHSACT requirements both in the workshop and customers premises
