Job description:
The Facilities Manager is a critical role responsible for the strategic planning, management, and maintenance of all company facilities. This position ensures a safe, efficient, and productive working environment that supports the organization's goals. The Facilities Manager will lead a team of professionals, manage complex projects, and act as a primary point of contact for all facility-related matters. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Profil request:
• Strategic Facility Planning:
o Develop and implement long-term facility plans that align with the company's strategic objectives.
o Conduct space planning and utilization studies to optimize resource allocation.
o Forecast future facility needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Operational Management:
o Oversee daily facility operations, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and utilities management.
o Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency.
o Manage and respond to after-hours emergencies and facility disruptions.
• Maintenance and Repair:
o Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all building and workshop systems and equipment.
o Oversee reactive maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
o Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and maintenance activities.
• Project Management (Capital and Operational):
o Manage capital improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, and new construction.
o Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
o Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineers, and contractors to ensure project success.
o Manage operational projects like office relocations, or new equipment installations.
• Financial Management:
o Develop and manage the annual facilities budget, including operating expenses and capital expenditures.
o Analyse budget variances and implement cost-saving measures.
o Negotiate contracts and manage vendor payments.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
o Ensure compliance with all OSH Act regulations.
o Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
o Manage hazardous materials and waste disposal.
o Oversee fire protection systems.
o Conduct risk assessments.
• Technology Integration:
o Implement and manage building automation systems (BAS) and other facility technologies.
o Utilize data analytics to optimize building performance and energy efficiency.
o Stay abreast of emerging facility management technologies.
• Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related inquiries and issues.
o Communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and senior management.
o Provide regular updates on facility operations and projects.
• Sustainability Initiatives:
o Implement and manage programs to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and waste.
o Pursue green building certifications.
o Promote sustainable practices among employees.
• Security Management:
o Manage building security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
o Coordinate with security personnel and law enforcement agencies.
o Develop and implement security protocols.
