Job description:
The purpose of this position is to perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and orderliness of the building maintaining a positive work environment for employees and a support a corporate perception by external visitors. The duties are to be performed for all areas of responsibility allocated to the housekeeper, in a safe and professional manner, providing a high standard of service to fellow employees. The role is expected to replenish consumables used by employees for hygiene and refreshments, as well as reporting any maintenance required within the building.
To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform each essential duty / key performance area satisfactorily. This list of key performance areas is not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time:
1. Service, clean, and supply the surfaces and contents of the building including, but not limited to:
· Offices
· Restrooms
· Boardroom
· Kitchens
2. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in a safe manner, taking care not to damage floors and fixtures.
3. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
4. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. When necessary, strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
5. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using the correct materials and equipment.
6. Clean building interior walls by washing and drying them.
7. Supply refreshments (tea, coffee, etc) for meetings on request.
8. Gather and empty bins.
9. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for housekeeping: cleaning and maintenance duties.
Replenish stocks of consumables in kitchens and bathrooms as required.
