Job Description :
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To provide technical assistance and help in the service department, working under the direct instruction of a technician and/or salesperson.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/equivalent
- Some experience in carrying out technical work under instruction.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Clean criminal record
Profil Request :
RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
- To assist the service technicians in the repair and servicing of motor vehicles.
- To understand the application of and recognize tools and equipment for servicing and repair.
- To keep tools and equipment clean and safe and to report defects to the immediate supervisor.
- To keep work areas in a clean condition.
- To recognize parts as per job card and/or picking slip information.
- To carry out loading work carefully and safely, ensuring that applicable manning and hoisting equipment is correctly used.
- To promptly respond to instructions in the work place in respect of time constraints applicable to the service and parts departments' work load.
- To assist in the removal of wheels from motor vehicles and the replacement thereof under direct instruction.
- To ensure that body and paint work is not damaged while working on motor vehicles.
- To ensure that parts, tools and equipment are not lost or damaged.
- To assist in the parts department in the course of handling dispatch and outgoing items for internal and external use.
- Not to tamper with or remove any items whatsoever in customers' vehicles.
- To place in position protective covers or dust sheets, prior to work being carried out on motor vehicles.
- To clean away excessive wastage of consumables after service and repairs to motor vehicles.
- To ensure that no wastage of lubricating fluids and cleaning consumables occurs.
- Any ad hoc responsibilities, as and when required.
