We looking for a Procurement Officer M/F based : South Africa
Job description:
An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for an experienced and suitably qualified Procurement Officer who will focus on “Non-Trade Commodities” to join the Corporate Service team based in Durban.
Purpose of the job:
To source suppliers, develop and implement third party supplier agreements and run with purchasing-related activities for non-trade items as well as ongoing management of procurement risk, compliance to procurement and TTAF policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
Profil request:
Experiential and Educational requirements:
- 5 years general organisation experience
- Relevant Diploma / Relevant Degree as an advantageous
- 2 years procurement / general commercial experience will be an added advantageous
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with Divisions across the group to understand and stay abreast of internal procurement requirements.
- Development of Procurement framework and policies for TTAF Non-Trade and implementation
- Partner with the division to procure Non-Trade Commodities
- Build relationships with current and potential suppliers.
- Analyse current non-trade procurement and identify priorities to obtain quick wins
- Work with the financial team to develop policies and procedures for non-trade procurement.
- Identify criteria and evaluation criteria for selecting suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Continually analyse procurement data
- Inform business of non-trade procurement activities, savings, opportunities, risks, etc.
- Continually partner with business to drive improved savings and efficiencies.
- Place orders on the system.
- Co-ordinate the entire stock management process from order to delivery, consumption, stock counting & stock replenishment.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies, procedures, governance and BBBEE requirements.
- Ensure continual management of third-party supplier risk (e.g., ensuring the group does not deal with suppliers that could damage its reputation and that suppliers are able to fulfil their contractual obligations).
- Periodically review the current supplier base in order to identify and establish improved contracting opportunities.
- Participate in shaping business activities and processes in line with emerging opportunities and risks.
- Participate in / lead relevant projects as required
