Job Description :

An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for an experienced and suitably qualified Financial Accountant to join the Finance team based in Nairobi.

This role is required to assist the organisation overseeing the maintenance of the organisation's general ledger in line with the laid down procedures for Laborex Kenya Limited.

 

Requested profile :

Receipts posting and matching of accounts:

  • Posting of payment vouchers to the relevant bank accounts and expense/client accounts.
  • Posting of the items in the bank statement to the cash book.
  • Preparation of accurate and timely bank reconciliations for all accounts for the organisation on a monthly basis.
  • Follow up on reconciling items with relevant Banks.
  • Liaise with organisation directors on bills and visa card statements and ensure that they are accounted for.

General ledger Management:

  • Execute the posting of the payroll journals to the general ledger.
  • Manage staff accounts in relation to advances and expense claims postings.
  • Manage suppliers’ expenses account in accordance to the contractual terms and conditions
  • Timely processing of debit / credit notes for supplier accounts that are in cross charging terms.
  • Sending out statements to suppliers in respect of supplier debtors, allocation of payments and reconciling the accounts accordingly.
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are posted and accounts reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile the general ledger to the subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis.
  • Resolve in liaison with principles representatives the differences arising from various suppliers debtors account reconciliations and take appropriate action as per laid down procedures.
  • Ensure where applicable that credit notes are sent to the suppliers and reflect in the statements.
  • Follow up with suppliers for payments in terms of resolved outstanding balances

Cash account management:

  • Closely monitor and reconcile cash in transit account.
  • Carry out random cash counts.
  • Reconcile and monitor the petty cash account and the cash account on a monthly basis and reconcile the closing balance to the cash count certificate at the end of the month.
  • Maintain contact and communication with Branches to ensure that any differences or discrepancies in the cash in transit account is resolved.
  • And performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
