we are looking for Kanban Controller (Administrator) M/F based: South Africa
Job description:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Kanban Controller to join our Production Support Centre team in Durban. To coordinate the accurate and timely printing, verification, allocation and distribution of Kanban documentation to enable uninterrupted Just-in-Time (JIT) material supply to the customer, while maintaining consumable stock controls, resolving operational issues proactively and ensuring continuity of production through adherence to established Kanban processes and service standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Matric / Grade 12
- 1–3 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment Exposure to Kanban-controlled or Just-in-Time manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office applications (advantageous)
Required profile :
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Receive Kanban schedules and special orders via email
- Verify incoming orders.
- Print Kanban journals, Kanban cards and checklists in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prioritise work according to production schedules and customer requirements.
- Match Kanban cards to the correct Kanban journal.
- Complete and sign checklists.
- Organise documentation into the correct pigeonhole slots by trip.
- Route special orders to the Office Administrator for immediate picking.
- Maintain the continuous flow of Kanban documentation to support scheduled picking every production cycle.
- Prioritise urgent customer requests.
- Follow Kanban procedures and standard operating processes consistently.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring disciplined attention to detail
- Ensure documentation is complete and auditable.
- Escalate issues promptly to IT and management to ensure no production delays.
- Conduct daily stock counts of Kanban printing consumables and accurately record inventory levels.
- Apply kaizen mindset to identify opportunities for business improvement.
- Participate in projects as required.
