Job description:
To contribute to the effective functioning of ALD’s yard operations by ensuring the timely and safe handling of vehicles, supporting quality assurance efforts, and promoting teamwork and collaboration in line with deadlines, policy and process requirements.
Profil request:
TECHNICAL PRE-REQUISITE:
- Must have a valid Code EB driver's license and demonstrated proficiency in operating various types of vehicles within the yard environment.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance, including the ability to conduct inspections, identify faults, and perform minor repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Basic understanding of warehouse and yard operations, including vehicle movement, inspection procedures, and inventory management practices.
- Firefighting and first aid training.
- Ability to use computerised systems for data entry, inventory tracking, and communication purposes.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
COMPETENCY PRE-REQUISITE:
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the quality and safety of vehicles within the yard.
- Able to prioritise tasks effectively and manage time efficiently to meet shipment deadlines and maintain workflow consistency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address issues that arise during vehicle movement, inspection, and preparation.
- Demonstrates a readiness to taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Able to maintain sustained focus, particularly during tasks such as vehicle inspection, handling and documentation.
- Learning agility (open to feedback and motivated to learn).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Grade 12 (equivalent to high school diploma)
Additional education or training related to warehouse operations, logistics, or automotive industry.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years' driving experience with warehouse and yard knowledge
